Do you know what the 2015 trends are for spring? You don’t?
Well, then it’s a good job you have popped along and are reading this, because we at Meriko have been busy looking into springtime looks and can’t wait to share our thoughts with you!
Condé Nast, celebs and red carpets are ablaze with colour and comfortable key items this spring that are taking smart days into balmy nights with effortless ease. Which is great, because that is what Meriko is all about – quality, fun, colour and elegance in its most natural and simple way.
Here’s what’s in this spring and how to accessories it with our favourite pieces…
BLUE AND WHITE
Nothing says ‘beach and holidays’ more than this colour combo…
What I enjoy the most about the colour blue is just how many shades you get, in fact the stones I use in the Gold Coast collection were inspired by the sea itself. From the boho charm of Turquoise to the mystical Lapis Lazuli, blue is the new black. It goes with everything and it says one thing – serenity. So accessorize your blue clothing with a different shade of blue to give it a contrasting pop of colour, and if you really want to highlight the nautical theme then you can also go for Pearls. Our Pacific Dream collection has lots of earrings, rings and pendants that make any outfit instantly classic.
I love yellow!
It’s so happy and hopeful; in fact it’s everything that spring should be – sunshine, daffodils and sunflowers. When it comes to jewellery though, yellow isn’t the easiest color to wear against most skin tones (in fact the paler you are, the harder it is to pull off) but a bright handbag or pair of shoes is just the right amount of wow you need to brighten up an outfit. And as for earrings or the right necklace to wear with yellow? Well I say go for the boldest colour you can – Carnelian orange, Turquoise blue or even elegant black Agate. Have fun mixing up colours – the sun is out, you can get away with it!
I love this new trend that is entering stores this season. It’s ideal for going straight from the office to the cocktail bar, with nothing but a change of shoes and jewellery to take you from Secretary to Sex Kitten.
Keep your jewellery simple by day, like our 2-ball Gold Coast ring and bracelet, then add some more rings (we have some cool midi and pinky ones) for fingers full of fun and our ear cuff for some extra edge to your night out.
HEAD TO TOE WHITE
Because All White is all right with me. If you aren’t the clumsy kind that is confident enough to step out of the house head to toe in white (not advisable for mums of small kids like me) then I say ‘go for it’! It’s so Ibiza and so Holiday. Plus is creates the perfect canvas for any colour jewellery. In fact it gives you the perfect excuse to pile it all on and make a statement with your pieces. Fill up your fingers with rings, layer up your neck with necklaces of every stone and wear more than one bracelet at a time. Don’t be scared to combine different colours, stones and shades of gold together…your outfit is simple, but your jewellery needn’t be.
ONE SHOULDER CUTS
Want a bit of sex appeal but without letting it all hang out?
One shoulder tops are perfect for casual nights out, but don’t wear a necklace. Big no-no! Asymmetrical clothing does not lend itself well to pendants, so do yourself a favour and get your hands on a long pair of earrings like the ones we have in our Gold Coast collection. Or, if your top and night out need a bit more of a classy twist, why not invest in some drop earrings like the ones from our Bygone London collection or Pearls from our Pacific Coast collection? The simpler the top, the flashier your earrings can be.
It’s as fun and simple as that! Spring is about new beginnings and enjoying life again. So enjoy your spring ladies and I hope your new Meriko accessories will make you feel as fantastic as you look.
